Egyptology...

I've had this book since I was much younger. I recieved it as a Christmas present from my grandparents who had  heard that I had been studying egypt in school. When I saw that it was a book about egypt, I came to an immendiate misconception that the book would be dull, boring and text book-like, but on opening the book I discovered it to be none of the above. Infact it was one of the most beautiful books I've ever owned. Okay these photos really dont do the book any form of justice but I suppose they are neccesary simply to pad this post out so that it is not entirely made up of my ramblingness. There were enveloped letters and fold out games, encased in tiny origami packages and fold out hyroglyphics, the hole book is just so stunning its a wonder I havent done an inspired outfit before. By the way, if your an artist, design student, or just a blogger who is fond of arty, street style, fashion books that you enjoy trawling amazon in order to find (okay I know I'm kind of describing myself here but I'm sure theres others) then you should buy this book, even if ancient civilisation makes you feel like commiting suicide (erm thats me!)...it is stunning.
I was going to post some photos of the pages from the inside of the book aswell but the pages seem to be really shiny and the ones taken with flash the light has just reflected off of them leaving big white marks in my photos and the ones taken without, well they are beyond an acceptable level of blurriness.
okay, I attempted egyptian style makeup because I meen, how can you not, and I failed but, hey, please get over it. I'm fifteen. I had fun and at the end of the day this is why I blog, so that I can share with the world a way in which I enjoy myself. Like I've said before... there is something beautiful about imperfection.
H&M satin dress (rolled up and worn as bodice) and belt, Zara shoes, dress from the clothes show.
God, I must be the only teenager on earth sad enough to stand infront of an awkwardly balanced camera leaning against a pencil pot and a battery on her bedsides table on a loudly bleeping self timer and hold a pose such as this dressed like an ancient egyptian... tehehe, it does make one feel maginally pathetic.
Okay I'm crazy, one day I'll get over telling you that.
Tehe....
Tomorrow x

  4. Hehe, oh I wouldn't say the only one. My own, aha, home-conducted photoshoots are equally cobbled together affairs. Not to say the results of said effort are not worth it, as for yourself they are very much so. I've said before I do love your sense of style.
